NITROTYRES: TYRE INFLATION |

NITROTYRES is a patented system which consists of a compact nitrogen generator (nitrogen purity 95 – 99,5%) based on membrane technology.
Nitrogen is known as one of the best and safest methods for tyre inflation. It is used in aircraft, racing cars, earth moving and construction vehicle tyres and in areas with a high risk of explosion because it is safe and assures a constant pressure at various temperatures.
Tyres act as membranes through which oxygen permeates and in time seeps through the tyre walls causing deflation and excessive adherence. This jeopardizes the safety and comfort elements and there is also an increase in fuel consumption when using the traditional inflation system.
Why inflate with Nitrogen ? These are the benefits:
- Increased stability: the constant pressure of the tyres (even when heated) guarantees at least three times the duration, a dynamic performance, excellent adherence, improved performance and handling.
- Increased safety: The use of nitrogen eliminates the possibility of tyre explosion when the temperature within the tyre is elevated which takes place when there is a mixture of oil fumes and oxygen causing combustion.
- Longer tyre life: The tread life lasts longer in an oxygen-free environment. There is no vapour or flammable mixtures of oxygen and oil (compressor lubrication oil) that can lead to rapid oxidation. The tyre rims are thus protected against rust.
- Increased Fuel saving and environment friendly: A drop in pressure of 20% reduces tyre life by 15% and causes a fuel increase of 3% when using the traditional inflation system. Constant pressure using NITROTYRES guarantees a more homogeneous tyre tread use (three times the duration) and a reduction of fuel consumption due to reduced rolling resistance therefore reducing emissions. Better preserved tyres are easy to reconstruct leading to reduced waste products.
NITROTYRES system is ready to operate as the compressed air supply is connected and automatically switches on or off depending on the nitrogen demand. |
